Biography

BS Nankai University, PhD Dalian Institute of Physical Chemistry (DICP), CAS, Visiting scientist at Laboratorium voor Petro- chemische Techniek, Universiteit Gent, Belgium (1997-1998), Team leader, Laboratory of Natural Gas Utilization and Applied Catalysis, DICP, CAS (since 1999)

The objective of our research is to develop innovative catalytic process on the refining of petroleum and the efficient use of natural gas (CH4). In our research we design, synthesize, and characterize new catalysts. Our scientific interests include heterogeneous catalysis for environmental and energy related processes, synthesis of high temperature stability materials and environmentally benign solid acids.

We are interested in catalytic reactions involved in the hydroisomerization of paraffins, the selective ring open of naphthenic molecules, catalytic combustion of methane. 

Current research projects:
Catalytic Combustion of CH4 The major difficulty in the development of a catalytic combustion process is in the seeking of suitable catalysts with high stability and high activity. In this project, research is being performed to develop high surface area cation substituted hexa- aluminates. The effect of preparation methods on the pore structure, surface area, and combustion activity of hexaaluminate are being extensive studied.
