Glyco-engineering, glycobiology, enzyme-engineering, plant immunity, oligosaccharides
My research interests are in glycoengineering, enzyme-engineering, glycobiology and plant immunity. My research focuses on the utilization of polysaccharide biomass resources in nature, which mainly includes two aspects: the mining and creation of polysaccharide degradation enzymes and efficient degradation of polysaccharides; the functions and mechanisms of oligosaccharides especially the regulation of plant immunity by oligosaccharides.
I have discovered and modified a series of efficient polysaccharide degradation-related enzymes to achieve the preparation of functional oligosaccharides. The effects and mechanisms of polysaccharides and oligosaccharides on the immunity of plants and animals have been systematically studied. I have published more than 100 research papers in Appl Catal B, ACS Catal, J Phys Chem Lett, Bioresource Technol, Carbohyd Polym, Food Chem, AEM, JAFC, MPMI and other journals, 3 books and several book chapters. I have been granted more than 40 patents and have transformed more than 10 into corporate industrial applications. I have developed more than 20 kinds of oligosaccharide-based functional foods, biopesticides and biofertilizers, which have been widely used in China and abroad.
