Kirsty Salmon, Vice President for Advanced Biological and Physical Sciences, bp Low Carbon Energy, Visits DICP

From May 13 to 16, a delegation led by Kirsty Salmon, Vice President for Advanced Biological and Physical Sciences at bp Low Carbon Energy, visited the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). DICP Director LIU Zhongmin, Deputy Directors LI Xianfeng and Academician LI Can, along with Functional Departments representatives, participated in the activities.

Director LIU Zhongmin provided the visitors with a detailed overview of DICP's recent scientific progress, platform development, and technology transfer achievements. He said that bp is one of DICP's most important international partners and expressed hope for deeper collaboration. He said that both sides can leverage their complementary domestic and international strengths to further promote academic exchange and cooperation in hydrogen energy, energy storage, biofuels, and CCUS, as well as talent development programs.

Kirsty Salmon highlighted the strong alignment between bp's strategic development goals and DICP's research directions. She said that the two sides share numerous areas of synergy and expressed great expectations for the next phase of collaboration. She added that bp looks forward to continuing its partnership with DICP to advance scientific innovation and jointly contribute to global sustainable development.

During the visit, the delegation toured the DICP Exhibition Hall and attended a project exchange meeting on ongoing joint research initiatives.
