Introduction:
Dr. WANG Fudi currently serves as a Qiushi Chair Professor at Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and Director for Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He is the Founder and President of Bio-Trace Element Society in the Biophysical Society of China. He received his M.D. & Ph.D. from Hebei Medical University, Tongji University and Second Military Medical University (1992 and 1998). Since then, he has completed his postdoctoral training at University of Missouri-Columbia, an Instructor at Children's Hospital Boston at Harvard Medical School, Research Associate Professor at University of Florida, and Principal Investigator and Lab Head at Institute for Nutritional Sciences, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Dr. WANG also severed as the Deans at Zhejiang University School of Public Health and, Zhengzhou University School of Public Health (2013-2018), China. He holds several high profile national honors, including National High-level Personnel of Special Support Program, National Distinguished Young Scientist from China National Nature Science Foundation.

 

Dr. WANG has published over a hundred peer reviewed research articles. His research interest has been focused on 3 areas, (1) Elucidating molecular regulatory mechanisms of metal homeostasis by using genetically engineered mouse and zebrafish models; (2) Molecular mechanism and epidemiological studies of trace element homeostasis in human diseases, including hemochromatosis, β-thalassemia, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's diseases; (3) Human genetics and genomics for personalized nutrition.
