Abstract:
The SSRF is one of the most important large-scale scientific facilities of our country with the third generation synchrotron radiation light source. The application of the XAS has been attracting much attention in many research areas with the building of the XAS beam line at the SSRF. As a technique of the state-of-the-art, XAS has been widely used and attributed a lot to the fundamental research work published in the top level international journals. To make a much more powerful technique, currently, the second phase of the construction of the SSRF is underway. The new techniques with much more powerful functions including E-line, D-line, and so on will be built in the near future. They will be gradually opened to the users from the end of 2018 to 2020. This report will mainly focus on the introduction to the new XAS beam lines and their possible applications in various areas, e.g., catalysis, new materials for energy, etc..
Introduction:
Prof. Zheng Jiang earned his Ph. D at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2005. He is now in charge of the X-ray absorption spectroscopy at the SSRF and promoted as the dean of the material and energy department. By employing the established X-ray absorption methods, he has published above 150 SCI articles in Nat. Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc, etc.. He has undertaken and accomplished about 10 projects sponsored by Chinese National Science Foundation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the companies.
