Introduction:

Sarah completed a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering as well as a PhD in Chemical Engineering/Mathematics at The University of Melbourne. Sarah also holds the degree of Master of Intellectual Property Law from The University of Melbourne and has been a Registered Patent Attorney since 2008.   

Sarah’s current role is Intellectual Property Manager predominantly supporting CSIRO Mineral Resources and the High Performance Metals Industry Program in CSIRO Manufacturing. Prior to this role, Sarah had been working as Business Development Manager within CSIRO Energy for 4.5 years, primarily supporting the Coal Mining Research Program.  

Sarah has worked at the Australian National University (ANU) as a Commercialisation manager and undertook due diligence for ANU Connect Ventures. Before moving to business development and commercialisation roles, Sarah worked in Patent Attorney firms in both Melbourne and Brisbane for 8 years. 

Abstract:

The Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation is one of the largest National Scientific Research Organization of Austrilia. Sarah will present and overview on the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and provide details on the commercialisation framework and initiatives currently being undertaken by the CSIRO. This will include the program, ON, which is Australia's national science and technology accelerator.
