From 2010-2012, he was performing his postdoctoral research at University of Michigan. Concurrently, he served as a senior research scientist for Alluvium Biosciences Inc., where his efforts were focused on industrial strain improvement and microbial production of advanced biofuels. His research interests include biosynthesis of natural products, biofuels and industrial microorganisms. So far, he has published more than 30 research articles on prestigious journals such as Nature Chemistry, PNAS, JACS, JBC, and Chemistry & Biology. Since 2012, he has served as the Editorial Board Member for Journal of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology.
Abstract:
Cytocrome P450 monooxygenases (P450) are multifunctional biocatalysts. P450-mediated selective oxidation of C-H bonds plays major roles in natural product biosynthesis as well as pollutant degradation. Recently, we studied a number of microbial P450s in terms of catalytic mechanism, functional exploration and molecular interaction between P450 and their reductases. Our findings are facilitating fundamentals and applications of P450 catalysis.
