Prof. Hong Shang is a doctoral supervisor and currently is the vice president of China Medical University, president of the First Hospital of China Medical University, director of Clinical Laboratory Center and director of Key Laboratory of AIDS immunology of NHFPC. She is also the chief commissioner of Laboratory Medicine Branch of CMA, chief commissioner of Laboratory Technique Medicine Branch of CNAS and the vice director of Chinese Association of STD&AIDS Prevention and Control. She takes great effort in laboratory medicine and AIDS prevention and treatment research and has directed over 40 projects of 11st 5-year Plan and 12nd 5-year Plan from MOST and innovation team projects from The Ministry of Education. She dominates the reference interval setting of routine clinical biochemistry parameters for Chinese people and the relevant technique system formation. She explored the key factors affecting the progression of AIDS and published over 290 papers in Nature, NEJM, ClinChem, J Virol and J Biol Chem. She owns 5 domestic patents and many awards including 2nd prize of National S&T Progress Award and 1st prize of Liaoning S&T Progress Award.
