Abstract:

My talk will cover various aspects of nano drug delivery systems, nano applications in pharmaceutical sciences and nano medicines. I will cover some of my  research findings for delivery of herbal drugs, Chinese medicine and various projects being conducted in my labs. 

Introduction: 

 Dr. Yash Pathak is a nationally recognized scholar, researcher and educator in the areas of Nantechnology, Drug Delivery Systems and Nutraceuticals. He received his M Pharm , PhD from Nagpur University India his Executive MBA, and Masters in Conflict management from Sullivan University . His post-doctoral training was at Royal free Hospital London, Hebrew University of Jerusalem and University of Michigan Medical Center at Ann Arbor Michigan.  

Presently, Dr. Pathak holds faculty appointments at the Full Professor rank in University of South Florida (USF) College of Pharmacy, in USF Morsani College of Medicine Internal medicine in Nanomedicine, , Division of Global health , USF College of Public Health, and he serves as an Associate Dean for faculty Affairs at College of Pharmacy.  

In August 2010, I joined as Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at USF Health College of Pharmacy (COP). Prior to my arrival in Tampa, I was Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, and Chair and Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy.  

Dr Pathak joined academy after several years of Industrial service in research and development, administration and tech transfer expertise. He has over 7 years of versatile administrative experience in academic setting as Dean (and over 17 years as faculty and researchers in higher education after his Ph.D) and worked from student admission, academic affairs, research and graduate programs to present position of faculty affairs. Sullivan University was a for profit organization with less than 10,000 Students while USF is a state University 9th largest in USA with 47000 students and ranked 23rd by NIH for extramural funding and ranked in top 50 universities of USA.  

He was the member of the leadership team which led to the accreditation of two colleges of Pharmacy at Louisville and Tampa from ACPE and SACS.  

Yash has significant experience in working in international and culturally diverse setting,  

He has worked in USA, UK, France, South Africa, Mexico, Israel and India from postdoc,  

faculty to administrator in academic settings. He has travelled over 75 countries and  

lectured in many different universities and interacted with culturally diverse people  

worldwide.  

As a Vice Dean for COP at USF he has been participating in many University and USF Health level committees and has been actively involved in budget and finance management for the college and USF health. He also represents COP in USF world international efforts and was instrumental in establishing collaborations with many universities worldwide.  

He has excellent communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills and has significantly contributed to the growth and positive health of the organizations I have worked till now and proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively across disciplines and with personnel at every level of the organization  

Dr Pathak has edited 13 books in the field of Nanotechnology and Drug Delivery Systems (CRC Press), Antibody mediated drug delivery systems (John Wiley and Sons) and in the field of Nutraceuticals (Taylor and Francis) with over 110 research publications, reviews, chapters, abstracts and articles in educational research. He has authored many popular articles published in newspapers and magazines. He fluently speaks many languages and was trained and taught in English all through his career .
