Introduction:
Dr. Ernst R. F. Gesing received his Ph. D. in Chemistry from Westf?lische Wilhelms University at Münster in 1979. After that, he spent two years as a portdoctoral fellow at the University of California with Prof. K. Peter C. Vollhardt from 1979 to 1981, and four years as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Zürich with Prof. André Dreiding from 1981 to 1985. Then he moved to Bayer CropScience AG as Project Leader in Plant Protection Business Group (1985-2002) and R & D Research Insecticides (2002-present). He is the advisor for undergraduate and graduate students of different European universities (2000-present), and scientific partner of Bayer AG at the universities in Switzerland (2002-present). His research focuses on the development of ryanodine receptor inhibitors, acetolactate synthase inhibitors and ACCase inhibitors. He has published 20 papers and holds more than 130 patents (most are WO patents). He is now a Guest Professor of DICP (2006-2009, 2013-2016).
