From July 24 to 27, Prof. Rainer Lehmann, Prof. Cora Weigert and Prof. Andreas Peter from Tuebingen University, and Prof. Peter Plomgaard from Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen were invited by Prof. XU Guowang to visit Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) for metabolomics co-operative symposium. In order to strengthen the trilateral cooperation researches in the fields of exercise, diabetes and non-alcohol fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
Prof. Cora Weigert and Prof. Peter Plomgaard gave specific lectures on the research significance and technical challenge of exercise-related metabolomics, respectively, and summarized metabolomics results achieved in the early cooperation in combination with the clinical and biological data. Research teams from group 1808 and group 1830 summarized the results obtained from the cooperative studies on diabetes and multi-platform prostate cancer metabolomics data integrity. Participants extensively exchanged their opinions on the data and mechanism explanation, and looked into the future applications of novel metabolomics methods in metabolic disease studies.
During the meeting, the foreign experts also visited the research groups led by Prof. XU Guowang, Prof. LI Haiyang, Prof. QIN Jianhua, Prof. LIU Yang, and Prof. PIAO Hailong in DICP. (Text by HU Chunxiu and LI Zaifang, Image by HOU Xiaoli)
