On December12th, invited by the Scientific Research Center for Translational Medicine (SRCTM), Dr. YANG Chunzhang visited Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Under the chair of Prof. XU Guowang, in the conference hall of the division of biotechnology he gave an excellent lecture about Metabolic detour in IDH1-mutated glioma. Scientists from the division of biotechnology and the relevant research groups attended the lecture.
In his lecture Dr. YANG summarized the effect of IDH1 mutation on glioma cell metabolism. Based on his study, he found that Rictor/mTOR pathway may compensate cell metabolism caused by IDH1 mutation in glioma. After the lecture, Dr. Yang and members of SRCTM and the laboratory of high resolution/separation analysis and metabonomics discussed the possible cooperation subjects on the metabolic disorder.
Dr. YANG is a principal investigator of Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI) now. He has been engaged in the functional mechanism of bio-molecules research related to metabolic dysregulation.
