On November 30th 2016, the kick-off meeting for the Chinese-Japanese Research Cooperative Program "Efficient utilization of heat and electric power from renewable energy in urban areas mediated by hydrogen energy" has been held successfully in DICP. The meeting was hosted by Prof. CHEN Ping, PI of Chinese research team from DICP. Prof. YANG Xueming, the deputy director of DICP, together with Prof. Etsuo Akiba, Assoc. Prof. LI Haiwen from Kyushu University, and researchers from Chinese team were present at the meeting.
Prof. CHEN Ping and Prof. Etsuo Akiba introduced the background, plans, objectives and research teams of the Sino-Japan collaborative research project, respectively. Prof. YANG Xueming gave a high appraisal to this collaborative research project. He pointed out that the renewable energy is being developed rapidly worldwide, and DICP has been putting great efforts to build Dalian National Laboratory for Clean Energy. He encouraged the team to strengthen the collaboration, aiming to solve the key scientific and technological issues in the fields of hydrogen storage, hydrogen purification, solid oxide fuel cell and system integration. The researchers from both sides presented their project schemes, research achievements and future research plans then after.
After the meeting, Etsuo Akiba and LI Haiwen visited the laboratories of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Group (DNL0302) and New Materials and Processes for Highly Efficient Conversion of Methane Group (DNL1902). (Text and Imaged by JU Xiaohua)
