On Oct.9, 2015, Prof. Weiping Jia, the president of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, came to Scientific Center for Translational Medicine of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences for academic visit. Under the chair of Prof. Guowang Xu, the metabolic syndrome-diabetes research groups in Department of Biotechnology of the institute carried out an enthusiastic discussion about Type 2 Diabetes and rare subtype of Diabetes with Prof. Jia and Prof. Cheng Hu. Prof. Jianhua Qin, Prof. Lihua Zhang, Prof. Mingliang Ye, Prof. Renan Wu, Prof. Xin Lu and associate Prof. Guangwei Sun introduced their research thoughts and prospects of clinical applications of their unique techniques, including microfluidic chip, modification and quantitative proteomics, polypeptidomics, metabolomics and induced-pluripotent stem cell respectively. Dr. Jia also gave many valuable suggestions to every research project in light of current clinical questions and requirements.
