On Nov. 21st, 2014, Prof. Yafeng Guan was invited to University of Adelaide for the launch of Centre of Excellence for NanoscaleBiophotonics (CNBP) (http://www.cnbp.org.au).
The CNBP is officially supported by Australian Research Council (ARC) and links the Australian key community from University of Adelaide, Macquarie University and RMIT University, in partnership with 11 other international institutions. The mission of the CNBP is to discover new approaches to the measurement of nano-scale dynamic phenomena in living systems.
Several leading scientists were elected to serve as members of the CNBP International Science Committee (ISC). The purpose of the CNBP ISC is to advise on the strategic directions of the scientific endeavours of the Centre and support delivery of other Centre outcomes. The chair of ISC is Prof. Dennis L. Matthews (University of California, Davis), and the members include Nobel Prize winner Prof. Robert Grubbs (California Institute of Technology), Prof. Paul French (Imperial College London), Prof. Francesco Pavone (European Laboratory for Non Linear Spectroscopy) and so on. Prof. Yafeng Guan in DICP had the honor to be invited as a member of CNBP ISC. In symposium, Prof. Guanmade the deep discussion with other committee members on the recent development of highly sensitive fluorescent detection technique.
