The staged meeting of “Key Techniques Based on Microfluidic Chips for New Drugs Development” of National Major Scientific and Technological Special Project for “Significant New Drugs Development” was held on July 11-12 in Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), CAS. 20 delegates from Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Peking Union Medical College, the Second Military Medical University, East China University of Science and Technology, Liaoning University of Traditional Medicine, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Medical University and DICP participated this meeting. Many new progresses have been presented by every delegate and the suggestions have been in-depth exchanged about playing the microfluidic technology role in new drug development. Delegates are filled with confidence for microfluidic technology in new drug development based on the progresses in this project.
Professor LIN Bingcheng from DICP exposited the development trend and the key position of microfluidic chip technology in new drug development. He also demonstrated the basic ideas and long-term strategies for novel microfluidic chip platform and pharmaceutical microfluidic branch establishment. Members from DICP introduced the critical research results on microfluidic chips about high throughput screening and animal biomimetic organ. In this discussion, biomimetic chip has been highly approved and evaluation about its roles in drug screening and development.
