863 Project "Key technology of novel Li-S batteries for chemical energy storage " Passed Technical Acceptance

On July 28th, 2016, the achievements of 863 project "Key technology of novel Li-S batteries for chemical energy storage" was evaluated and checked by the evaluation expert group in Beijing. The attendees include the director of High-Tech Research & Development Center, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Prof. Jian Chen who is responsible for the project and the cooperation partners. The evaluation expert group has debriefed Jian Chen, and reviewed the final reports during the meeting. After discussion, the members of evaluation expert group were unanimous in approving that the project passed the final evaluation.

The project has made important progress on the key materials, components and key technologies for Li-S batteries and pack. Our rechargeable Li-S batteries and pack with high energy density and large capacity which own independent intellectual property right, present the highest energy density among the reported values in the world. The Li-S batteries can be applied in the fields of unmanned aerial vehicle, electric vehicle, intelligent micro-grid energy storage power station, etc. (Text by WANG Guoxu, LIU Yingjia)
