The evaluation meeting of 863 theme project “Toxicity assessment technologies for emerging contaminants” (2013AA065200) was hold by the 863 administration office of the Ministry of Science and Technology on June 16th~17th, 2016. The theme project contains five projects, which mainly conducted by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (CAS), Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (CAS), and Tsinghua University, respectively. Professor Jiping Chen as the project’s chief scientist leaded the theme project. The evaluation expert group has debriefed the project leaders, and reviewed the final reports during the meeting. After discussion, the members of evaluation expert group were unanimous in approving that the theme project passed the acceptance.
The theme project made some important progresses on the monitoring technologies (separation materials, analytical methods and equipments) for emerging contaminants, reduction and control technologies for soil contamination by pesticides, and health risk evaluation of estrogens and iodoacetic acid in drinking water and reclaimed water. The achievements obtained have good social benefits and market application prospects.
The project (Development of Technologies and Applicable Products for the Toxicity Assessment of Emerging Contaminants) leaded by our institute has obtained a series of innovative achievements in the aspects of sample preparation, separation materials and toxicity evaluation for emerging contaminants. A part of developed monitoring technologies with independent intellectual property rights have been demonstrated in the environmental monitoring departments. (Text / Photo : Group 103)
