The DICP research program "Study of Composite Chinese Medicine Systems Based on Modern Theories and Techniques" has passed an acceptance-check conducted jointly by the Hi-Tech R&D Bureau and the Life Science & Bio-Tech Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Beijing. The research program was one of the "key directional programs" of the Knowledge Innovation Project of CAS.
The evaluation report issued by an experts group for this research program pointed out that aiming at the treating of diseases of heart-brain blood vessels and incretions, with the development of "standard components" and "component Chinese medicines" as the "cutting-in" point, and by employing modern scientific theories and techniques, the DICP researchers have fulfilled excellently the requirements of the research contract and attained the anticipated goals. The experts also remarked that the ideas on "standard components" as well as on "component Chinese medicines" proposed by the DICP research team have exerted significant influence on the research of Chinese medicines. The evaluation report concluded that this research has attained breakthroughs on new and efficient separation materials, high through-put preparation techniques, constructing of standard and delicate component data-bases and finger-print spectrometric methods. All these are in leading positions internationally.
