Successful Application of Composite Monolith Catalyst & Device in Isotope Production Reactor

  A kind of "hydrogen-oxygen composite monolith catalyst & device" developed by the DICP research team headed by Prof. Wang Shudong has been applied successfully to the gas-circuit experiments of isotope production reactor in the Nuclear Power Institute of China(NPIC). The composite device has showed excellent performance during the experiments.

  The hydrogen-oxygen composite device is an integration of the reaction and heat exchange processes, thus facilitating the coupling of energy. It has a rational design, and can fulfill the technical requirements of the gas-circuit of reaction reactor. This device has passed evaluation by the experts of NPIC. The successful development of this device rendered a concrete basis for the construction of world-class 200 kW isotope production reactor in our country.

  A congratulation letter for this success has been sent to DICP by NPIC, in which it was also hoped that technical cooperation will be strengthened between the two institutions in the future.
