　　Introduction：The 5th General Assembly of the Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia (AASA) will be held September 27-30, 2004 at the Furama Nanshan Garden Hotel, in Dalian, China. An Symposium on Renewable Energy Utilization will be held in parallel to the assembly. The Renewable Energy Utilization Symposium consists of 12 keynote lectures, which focus on macro-research in renewable energy utilization, such as respective national status and policies.
