Prof. Liaohai Leo Chen from Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry of the Utah State University, USA, was invited to visit DICP on 20th July. Prof. Chen presented a lecture during his stay in the institute, and the topic he talked about was “Bio-templated materials: Sensing, imaging, catalysis and beyond”. The lecture session was moderated by Prof. Ren-an Wu of DICP’s Bio-Tech Division. In his lecture, Prof. Chen introduced the new progress made by his research team in the tracing of PET targeted tumors by utilizing phages, as well as in the investigation of catalytic hydrogen production. He also gave perspectives on the developing trends of these research fields. Active discussion was conducted between Prof. Chen and the DICP scientists after his lecture.
Prof. Chen was also invited to visit the relevant research groups of DICP’s Bio-Tech Division, and exchanges concerning the possibility of initiating cooperation between DICP and his university were undertaken.
