An strategic cooperation agreement between DICP and Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine(ZUCM) was signed in Hangzhou. According to the agreement, DICP was entitled to set up a branch center of the DICP Metabolomics Research Center in the Fundamental Medical College of ZUCM. A ceremony for agreement signing and set-up entitling was held on 1st July. Present in the ceremony were Mr. Zhengji Li, former Vice-Director of State Administration Bureau of Chinese Medicine, Prof. Guibin Jiang, Member of CAS, Prof Yongseng Fan, Dean of ZUCM, Prof. Chengping Wen, Vice-Director of Fundamental Medical College of ZUCM, and Prof .Guowang Xu of DICP.
The aim of the cooperation is the constructing of a metabolomic technical platform suitable for translational medicine research by utilizing the academic superiority of both parties, and the nurturing of research forces with international impacts in metabolomics. Moreover, joint researches will also be conducted on classification of disease types, on discovering of markers for diagnosis, on fundamentals of Chinese medicine theories, on drug effects of Chinese medicine, and on new methods for safety evaluation as well as quality control methods for new Chinese drugs.
