　　Introduction：The DICP Symposium (XVII) on Nanocatalysis will be held in Dalian, China, July 9-12, 2008. The symposium will focus mainly on fundamental issues and practical applications of nanocatalysis for understanding and defining the underlying concepts. It will also offer a unique blend of the various scientific disciplines (physics, chemistry, materials, and theoretical simulations) that play essential roles in understanding catalysis on the nanoscale.
