　　Introduction：About thirty distinguished scientists from both China and American are invited to give lectures or posters on the important directions of innovative materials and their application in various fields. Each talk is about 25 min, and another 10 min will be arranged for extensive discussion. The lectures will review the frontiers of the research directions, highlight the current research activities, point to the research directions in the next few years.
